Dance instructions

1 - 4 1s & 5s dance in, join nearer hands, dance round left and cast (1s cast off, 5s cast up) into 2nd & 4th place respectively.
5 - 8 1st man & 2s dance 3 hands across while 1st lady, 3s & 5th man dance 4 hands across while 4s & 5th man dance 3 hands across.
9 - 12 1s & 5s take promenade hold with their partner and dance clockwise ½ way round (i.e. 1s & 5s change places) while 3s turn left hand.
13 - 16 5s cross up between 2s and cast off into 2nd place on own sides while 1s cross down between 4s and cast up into 4th place on own sides. while 3s turn right hand.
17 - 24 5s, 3s & 1s dance reels of 3 on the sides (3rd man gives right shoulder to 5th man and 3rd lady gives right shoulder to 1st lady to start).
25 - 32 2s & 5s dance double figures of eight at the top (2s cast off & 5s cross up to start) while 1s & 4s dance double figures of eight (4s cast up & 1s cross down to start).
33 - 36 5s & 3s also 1s & 4s dance ½ rights & lefts
37 - 38 3s, 5s, 4s & 1s cross right hand.
39 - 40 5s & 4s change places with left hand on the side.
