Half Figure of Eight

Starting from own place, going down to start.

  • 1s cross down between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) and cast up into partners place.
1s finish in 1st place on opposite side.


Starting from partners place, going down to start.

  • 1s cross down between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) and cast up into own place.
1s finish in 1st place on own side.


Starting from own side in 2nd place, going up to start.

  • 1s cross up between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) and cast off into opposite side in 2nd place.
1s finish in 2nd place on opposite side.


Starting from opposite side in 2nd place, going up to start.

  • 1s cross up between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) and cast off into own side in 2nd place.
1s finish in 2nd place on own side.

Figure of Eight

Starting from own place.

  • 1s cross down between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) and cast up into partners place.
  • 1s cross down between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) and cast up into own place.
1s finish in original place.


Double Figure of Eight

For 1s & 3s (or 2s & 4s)

1s crossing down & 3s casting up to start (2s stand still)

  • 1s cross down between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) while 3s cast up to 1st place.
  • 3s cross down between 2s (3rd lady passing in front of 3rd man) while 1s cast up to 1st palce.
  • 1s cross down between 2s (1st lady passing in front of 1st man) while 3s cast up to 1st place.
  • 3s cross down between 2s (3rd lady passing in front of 3rd man) while 1s cast up to 1st palce.
All finish back in their own place.

Quadruple Figure of Eight

  • 1s & 3s dance a Double figure of eight around 2nd place while 2s & 4s dance a double figure of eight around 3rd place.
